Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that Felicia Williams, 38, of Montclair was indicted on charges of aggravated manslaughter for the Jan. 13 fatal stabbing of Herbert W. Spriggs, III, 47, also of Montclair.
Following an early morning argument between the couple, Williams allegedly stabbed Spriggs one time in the residence they shared in the 200 block of Claremont Avenue. Spriggs collapsed at Mountainside Hospital after driving himself there for treatment. He died shortly after he arrived.
Williams is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on $250,000 bail.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed to be innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty in a court of law.
