Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today a 15-year-old Irvington juvenile has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child in connection with injuries sustained by his girlfriend’s 11-month old baby girl.
The mother of child, Crystal Spearman, 19, also of Irvington has been charged with endangering the welfare of the child. The child is in critical condition at University Hospital in Newark.
Both the mother and the 15-year-old boyfriend are in custody. The boyfriend is not the biological father of the child.
No other details are available at this time. These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
