Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino today announced that his Office is seeking help from the public in apprehending Omar Solomon, 23, of Elizabeth. Solomon has been charged with the murder of Leon Truesdale, 30, of Newark. A warrant was issued for Solomon’s arrest by the Honorable Michael Ravin, J.S.C.
Truesdale was killed by multiple gunshot wounds on July 12 in the 100 block of Newton Street in Newark. Police responded to a report of shots fired in the hallway. When they arrived they found a pool of blood. Police canvassed the area and found Truesdale lying in a parking lot on Bruce Street. He was subsequently pronounced dead.
