Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel A. DeMaio announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking help from the public in finding two suspects wanted in connection with separate murders that occurred in the city of Newark.
Tyquaah Mayse, 33, of Newark is wanted for the murder of Wesley L. Howard, 38, of Newark. Howard was fatally shot multiples times in the first floor hallway at 860 South 11th Street in Newark on Dec. 24, 2012. Mayse has been charged with murder and weapons offenses. The Honorable Joseph C. Cassini, III, J.S.C., set bail for Mayse at $1 million.
Dwayne Edwards, 35, of East Orange, is also wanted. He is a suspect in the shooting death of Raymar Kadeem Lecky of West Orange. Lecky, 22, was shot at Sanford and Lanark Avenues in Newark on Dec. 31, 2012. The Honorable Garry Furnari, J.S.C., set bail for Edwards, who is charged with murder and weapons offenses, at $1 million.
