Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that an Essex County Grand Jury has indicted Rasheed Bush, 19, of Newark for first degree murder and two second degree weapons possession charges in the death of 19-year-old Daniel Rivera of Newark.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. on September 2, 2011, Rivera was shot multiple times while walking along Riverview Court in Newark. He was taken to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Bush is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in the indictment on June 5, 2011 before the Honorable Peter J. Vazquez, J.S.C. Assistant Prosecutor Thomas McTigue is handling the case.
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty in a court of law.
