Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of Altariq Johnson 36, of Newark
In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 8, police responded to the 100 block of Brenner Street, Newark. They found Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 3:42 a.m.
