Authorities Seek Help from Public in Cold Case
Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in solving a cold case.
On Oct. 5, 2006 Carey Suitt was struck and killed by a hit and run driver on Freeway Drive East and South Center Street in the City of Orange. The driver, according to witnesses, failed to stop and fled on Hickory Street in Orange. Witnesses described the vehicle as a black 2005 GMC Envoy.

The Essex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
