Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that Barbara Queen, 75, of East Hanover has been charged with second degree theft by deception and second degree financial facilitation for her role in a scheme to sell fraudulent stock.
It is alleged that she worked with William C. Martucci, 69, of Millburn. Martucci was arrested on Jan. 6, and charged with the same offenses. Between Oct. 8, 2004 and December 2011 it is alleged Queen committed the offense of theft by deception by purposely inducing a California doctor to invest $100,000 in stock of a company named E-Cash and a company named AAMPRO, Inc. She was not authorized to issue stock for either business.
Investigators ask that anyone with information contact the Financial Crimes Unit of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-266-7220.
Queen is scheduled to make her first court appearance on Feb. 29. If convicted of all the charges, Queen faces 20 years in prison.
These charges are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
