Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is actively investigating the murder of 17-year old Kamara Ingram of Irvington.
Ingram was shot at approximately 9:45 pm yesterday while sitting on the porch of a residence in the 200 block of South 10th Street. It appears she was visiting her boyfriend at that location. She was transported to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead at approximately 10 p.m.
“Last night’s shooting is being investigated by Essex County Prosecutor’s Office as well as the Newark Police Department. We are acting in concert to quickly arrest those actors who perpetrated this crime as to bring solace to the grieving family of the decedent .We will use every means at our disposal to find those responsible and swiftly prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law,” said Director DeMaio.
