Laurino announced today Noah Cuebas, 27, of East Orange plead guilty to two counts of murder and weapons offenses.

On Feb. 21, 2005 Cuebas murdered Allen Reese, 17, of Newark. Cuebas abducted Ishwanda Hutchins, a 14-year-old Newark girl, at gunpoint, took her to the basement of a condemned building on South Harrison Street in East Orange, beat, raped and shot her in the head. Her body was discovered on April 7, 2005.

Today, Cuebas plead guilty to both murders and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 10 by the Honorable Michael Petrolle, J.S.C. He faces 50 years in prison.

“He is the most violent, unrepentant and unremorseful criminal I’ve ever seen. He just has a taste for killing,’’ said Assistant Prosecutor Robert Grady, who handled the case.

Cuebas is currently in the Hudson County Jail.
