Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel A. DeMaio announced today that an arrest warrant has been issued for Kajuan Murray, 21, of Newark. He is wanted for the murder of Tony Johnson, 27, also of Newark.

On Dec. 3, at approximately 4 p.m. Newark Police officers responded to a report of shots fired. They discovered Johnson in the 300 block of Clinton Avenue, near Stratford Place, with gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Hospital. He was later pronounced dead at approximately 4:30 p.m. Johnson was fatally shot while standing outside with a group of people.

In addition to murder, Murray is also charged with two weapons offenses. Bail was set at $1 million by the Honorable Carolyn E. Wright, J.S.C.
